David A. Siegel

David A. SiegelDavid A. Siegel is a Professor of Marine Science in the Geography Department and Director of the Earth Research Institute. Dr. Siegel's research focuses on the coupling of ecological and ocean physical processes from basin- to micro-scales with application in problems ranging from global biogeochemical cycles, plankton ecology and fisheries oceanography.  Dr. Siegel is a fellow of both the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the American Geophysical Union (AGU). Dr. Siegel is a Co-PI of the Santa Barbara Coastal Long-Term Ecological Research site (SBC-LTER; http://sbc.lternet.edu/) and is the PI of the Plumes and Blooms project which conducts monthly cruises in the Santa Barbara Channel assessing the causes of changes in ocean color in a complex coastal ocean (http://www.icess.ucsb.edu/PnB/PnB.html).
